My four year old Rhodesian Ridgeback and I are in our second Growly Class series with Behave Canine Solutions. My dog has been "protective" since he turned 2, but more extreme reactive behavior, towards people and other dogs, manifested itself last fall when we moved from a rural setting into the city. Our participation in the Growly Classes has helped enormously-- I feel way more confident and I am super happy with our progress!
I researched a number of programs and chose Behave Canine because they stood out in qualifications and positive approach. Jessica and Denise are very well qualified dog trainers and both have dealt extensively professionally and personally with reactive dogs. Classes are set up so that learning their positive methods of retraining (you and your dog), allow plenty of time for both handler and pet to practice and feel confident. The added bonus is that Jessica and Denise tailor their training techniques to your dog's unique personality and needs, and they are available between classes by e-mail or phone for help and reinforcement!
