About Us

Behave was founded in 2005 in order to provide positive (rewards-based) dog training with an emphasis on motivation, consistency and positive leadership skills. Even small behavior problems can make living with your dog stressful at times. Training should not only address these problems and help you enjoy being with your pet, but it should also be fun for both of you. In short, we think that your relationship with your dog can be better when your dog wants to do what you want.

Many of our trainers a have personal experience dealing with fear and aggression problems in some of our own rescued dogs, and consequently have a great interest helping others learn how to resolve these issues as well. If your dog is has severe behavioral challenges such as aggression and anxiety, basic obedience and manners training will typically not be enough to resolve the issues. The underlying problems often need to be identified and resolved prior to obedience work. With persistence and patience we have found even very difficult dogs can be worked with.

In addition to continuously working to grow as trainers and as a business, we hope to contribute to a growing community of like-minded pet businesses and rescue groups. We love working with other professionals and are members of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, International Association of Canine Professionals, Peoples Animal Chamber of Commerce and have provided assistance to rescue groups including the Pixie Project and Animal Aid.
